Cafe Late
Well, last night I had the opportunity to play at Cafe Nite at R.P.G. - Revival Praise Generation - in the Valley in Brisbane. The Late Arrivals - Simon, Dan and I - got a 10 min slot. Aptly named, we practised only once before the night and we were so late, even the name only came up like 15 minutes after the soundcheq and just before the event.
There were a lot of brilliant acts on a chill out night which saw people from all over Brisbane rock up to. Special thanks to Derrick, Eugene and Damien for helping us with the sound (without you we'd be the Charlie Chaplin Trio!) and Joshua for sparing a pal an acoustic guitar coz he left his hanging around on a music stand on the Coast (bummer!). Of course biggest thanks to Li Suan for hooking us up among Brisbanites and Ps Jim for trusting that we weren't a death metal band!
From learning about the origin of the 'cafe' to never forgetting to 'wash our hands', it was a throroughly fruitful evening. Ice chocs, dimly lit candles plus fancy table artwork and good ol brainteasers all brought together a perfect blend...
